Saturday, June 14 Meeting

NO- that is not Lawrence, just a close resemblance ;-)

Our June meeting was held on the second Saturday of the month and is the last meeting before we break for the summer months. We sometimes meet socially at members’ homes during the summer by having a beach walk or bar-b-q along with a show and tell or clay play. Any member is welcome and we will be posting any such event either on here or our members Yahoo Group

Business discussed was our biennial retreat, Horizons 2015, planned for  20, 21 and 22 of Feb. 2015 at the Park Inn Hotel on Broadway in Vancouver. More information will follow as we finalize the plans.
Nancy had a pkg. of each colour of the new Sculpey Souffle clay along with a couple of the new tools available.

If anyone is interested in the new Sculpey Souffle clay or tools available online in Canada, here is a link.

Marie Redmond posted it to another group. Marie is a member of  Clayamies , the national Canadian Guild.
“Hi Everyone
Just wanted to drop a line to let your Canadian Clayers know that the new Sculpey  Souffle Clay is now available, on line, from Polymer Clay Canada (Picture Perfect Renditions), in Keswick, Ontario.  I have been a Sculpey mail order supplier since 1998, and I know how difficult it can be to source out new products, especially when you live in rural areas.
 Marie Redmond”

It was great to have Olga Osnach  bring her latest show and tell to share with us. Her polymer clay characters are brilliantly done with such great attention to detail. Her characters, including the mice, are so life like you almost expect them to move.

All of the photos on this post have been taken by Lawrence Smith on his Samsung S4 Smartphone as he is getting too lazy to lug around his Canon Rebel DSLR and all that equipment, along with his claying gear. Please click on the photos to get a larger view and enjoy. Comments are always welcome.

This is an Elizabethan style framed wall plaque done as a commission by Olga.

  1. This is amazing work - wow! Being a 'distance' member, I haven't seen your work before, Olga.
