SATURDAY CHRISTMAS BRUNCH

Around the table left to right are Nancy, Cathy, Joan, Lawrence, Nettonya and Jem

Nancy's Harvey Wallbanger Cake - a work of art in itself.

We had an ornament swap and a few of the ornaments are to the left.
Clockwise Lawrence's Poinsettia, Nancy's Moose Man, Olga's ornament and Cathy Gilbert's Tree Ornament.
Clockwise top Olga's ornament, April's Santa Ornament, Joan's Bird, Lawrence's Poinsettia, Cathy's Tree, Nancy's Moose Man, Jem's Heart Ornament. Centre top is Ellen's and below it is Nettonya's ornament
We also had a challenge initiated by Ellen. She gave each of us a battery operated candle at our last meetng to create a "lumiere" for the Christmas Brunch.
Top left is Ellen's lumiere, Jem's in one of her beautiful polymer vessels, Joan's birds and Lawrence's liquid polymer votive.

It was a fun day with lots of laughs, especially Jem's great idea for the ornament gift exchange. Also thanks to Ellen for the "Lumiere" challenge. It is unfortunate that more did not take up the challenge.
Maybe we should do this mid-year as well, just before we break for the summer holiday. A beach party/pic-nik/bar-b-q could be in order.
Thanks to Cathy Gilbert, a member of our Guild as well as the North West Polymer Clay  Guild, for making the trip north to join us for the day. Some of you may remember Cathy from our first Horizons Retreat in 2009. We got some amazing photos of her polymer clay work and hope to feature some of them later in the week....so stay tuned and don't forget to comment so we know somebody out there is watching ;-)
