Text-iles

These are the three pendants Ellen Kocher submitted for Text-iles Show at the Silk Weaving Studio  on Granville Island. The pendant are cut from a copper metal sheet and that then etched. They are backed with textured sterling silver and fastened to a polymer clay tile. The thoughts expressed are Ellen's own words in metal form. The clay design is an example of Ellen's Manic Mokume technique. The backs have a co-ordinating polymer design.

The show will be on until the end of June and is just one good reason to spend part of a day on Granville Island.

On Summer's Doorstep

Bowls and leaf by Jem Redlich
Here we are on summer's doorstep. It is difficult to find time to do all the things that have to be done. Luckily Jem had time to turn out these lovely little bowls before gardening fever hit her. The larger bowl is approximately 4 1/2 inches across and the walls are very very thin. They feel almost as botanical as they look.

Olga makes great little rabbits so it is only fit that one should be on this site for Easter. If you would like to get and easter bunny like this one go to Olga's Etsy shop.
